Dr. Nirag Jhala
Nirag C. Jhala, MD, MIAC, has earned his medical degree in 1989 from Gujarat University and completed his training at the Allegheny University Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Dr. Jhala is board certified in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology with specialty board in Cytopathology and has fellowship training in gastrointestinal tract pathology. Dr. Jhala has earned several awards for his achievements in academics and is an active member of nine societies. Dr. Jhala is currently an Assistant Professor of Pathology at UAB where he has focused his work on pancreatic malignancies, cholangiocarcinoma, viral hepatitis, and colorectal carcinoma. Dr. Jhala continues to explore new ways to fight these diseases using state of the art technology including the cells obtained by endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration. Dr. Jhala is involved in research in multiple areas that involve the biomarker expression analysis and proteomics
